Our Process

Factor Four Business Advisory Services

We use a systematic process to gather information about you and your business. We use this information to identify current strengths and pain points that can be used to chart a course for your business and your life. We develop a plan specific to your needs and then allow you to choose how you would like to move forward–on your own, or working along with our team.

Step 1. Discover

In the information-gathering phase, we learn what we need to know about the current state of your business (history, employees, revenue) combined with your own personal aspirations (family, retirement plans). Specifically, we want to know more about your values and your hopes for your business and your life…in other words, your needs, wants and wishes. This information is used to help craft a plan that aims to align your current situation with your ideal vision for the future.

Step 2. Design

Using specific planning software that combines all information collected in the Discover phase, we develop a One Page Business Plan that provides a snapshot of your current business. This plan uses a forecasting model for business finances (cash flow, profitability) to identify areas that may be costing you time and money. The plan can be used for multiple purposes such as raising capital or as the basis for a larger personal financial plan.

Step 3. Decide

After you receive your One Page Business Plan, then you have the tools you need to decide the next steps. We offer three options for your consideration:

Option 1 – One Page Plan, No Advisement

If after you receive your One Page Business Plan and you decide that you have enough information to move forward on your own, we would encourage you to do so. Some clients decide that they aren’t ready for a more extended engagement. We would be happy to work with you at a later time if you decide that this option is your best course of action at this stage.

Option 2 – Periodic Advisory Meetings

If you are ready for more serious planning, we work with our clients during ongoing monthly/quarterly advisory meetings with you and your management team. This allows us to measure and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that provide feedback about the health of your business and business plans.

Option 3 – Value Builder Engagement

If you are ready to commit to increasing the value of your business to gain an exit strategy down the road, we will work with you through the Value Builder Methodology. This option includes 12 modules designed to increase the worth of your business and improve business efficiency.
